I’m grateful for those little moments of change that can take the everyday monotony of life from so-so, to ‘cool.’ It can be taking a different route to work; getting up an hour earlier to stare at the stars; or in our case today, eating in front of the TV.
I know. Life changing, right? 😉 We do this every so often, and I swear, moving from our usual seats at the dinner table near the kitchen, to sitting on the floor at the coffee table, as inconvenient and difficult as it can be to sit there… is just gold.
We had a reason tonight. It was the NBA finals, and Hubbie is a fan. Putting it really, really, really mildly. He doesn’t get time to watch it as much as he used to, yet he still knows almost all the players and all these random statistics from the game – I just don’t know how he can absorb it.
And today he managed to avoid hearing the result all day, so that he could watch the replay as soon as he got home. (I will tell you when to stop scrolling if you don’t want to know the result). I brought all the food to the lounge, we crowded around the table, and we ate. And the night felt different. Longer. Novel.
You don’t need to do anything spectacular to spice things up. You don’t need to go to drastic heights (pardon the pun) and say, jump out of a plane. Sometimes the change can be found in your home.
Actually. Always the change can be found in your home.
